The Sales Manger for Food Industry is responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with key clients within the food sector. This role involves identifying customer needs, providing tailored solutions, and driving sales growth for ancillary equipment products. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality service and solutions. Additionally, the Sales Manager will work to expand business opportunities, negotiate contracts, and ensure customer satisfaction across the entire account lifecycle.
Qualifications:
• Develops and execute a business plan for products within food processing capital equipment industry.
• Implements and manages sales strategy and programs with customers to expand market penetration.
• Create strategic and analytical capabilities to translate data into actionable insights.
• Develop and makes recommendations concerning marketing strategies to support sales activities for market entry.
• Together with the Sales Director, manages any customer tender process when required, negotiating where relevant and implementing contractual requirements as per market conditions and customer specifications
• Submits recommendations of measures to maximize sales productivity effective use of allocated sales resources
• Develop new business relationships with key corporate accounts.
• Serves as the product specialist and/or subject matter expert for the product(s) needed to support market.
• Educates leadership, sales and technical teams on industry market and technology needed to support.
• Be a key stakeholder in the design, development, and creation of scope for engineering projects identified for market.
• Interpret customers’ inquiries and develop technically and commercially correct proposals.
• Develop and manage customer relationships by way of in-person meetings, group presentations, trade shows, telephone and email.
• Understand and interpret detailed engineering drawings and project specification documents related to engineered systems.
• Understand process flow diagrams and utilize them to illustrate solutions.
• Obtain quotations from sub-vendors ensuring fulfillment of customer specifications and design intent.
• Accurately process sales orders (SAP and other business processes) and lead to kick off meetings to hand-off pre-sale knowledge to Project Engineering.
• Utilize CRM system.
• Maintain price lists, cost calculation sheets, sales drawings and templates under the direction of the Director of Sales.
• Domestic and international travel required.
Qualifications:
• 4-year degree in Business or Engineering with at least 5 years of food industry experience experience for the confectionery and bakery sectors
• Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new market areas with proven success.
• Ability to produce generals business correspondence like such as; sales reports and technical statements.
• Demonstrated, superior communication, teamwork and organization skills.
• Ability to use creativity to develop “out of the box” solutions for customers.
• Working knowledge of all major Microsoft Office programs, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Familiar with CRM
• Knowledge of pneumatic conveying technology equipment, bulk material handling equipment dust collection equipment and selling custom engineered systems is a plus.
