The Applications Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing the Applications team within Integrated Systems Group of UnaDyn. The incumbent will successfully lead the team through the Systems Quotation Process, order reception, contract review and preparation stages, while supporting all phases of the quotation process.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Quotes and supports sales of material handling systems to current and prospective UNADYN customers.
- Receives written and verbal project specifications, analyzes information and devices machine and system selection.
- Observes project requirements, consults with engineering and legal departments to prepare adherent offerings
- Contacts suppliers to source pricing and technical information for quotations or for purchase on projects, per quote/job. Uses best attempts to negotiate better pricing whenever possible.
- Uses CRM to provide project references, updated information and concludes with proper conversion to SAP upon order
- Provides validated order had-off to ISG Project Management, attending order entry meeting
- Uses engineering/design productivity tools (i.e., AutoCad,) to prepare or delegate preparation of computer-generated drawings from layouts, rough sketches or concepts to support quotation.
- Produces soundly-priced, value offerings – negotiates discounts through management approval
- Produces cost sheets to illustrate project sales and profit margins for near-sale large or contested projects
- Produces project schedule in support of quotation when requested
- Creates and maintains quality customer relations throughout sales process
- Analyses Purchase Order for contract review, pricing reconciliation, project execution details, commitment and scope
- Participates as technical authority in Sales presentations, on line and in person in support of Sales Managers an representatives.
- Meets with customers, installation contractors, and area representatives in field for sales calls and site review.
- Maintains ISG department quotation system in most modern fashion and maintains current content
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors and OEMs.
- Maintains department Vendor Pricing for usage in quotations
- Understands installation services and how to estimate pricing
- Maintains systems sizing and presentation tools
Requirements:
- 5+ years previous project management related experience.
- · 3+ Senior Engineering role or Department Management experience (inclusive of employee relations).
- · Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- · Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- · Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- · Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and ERP Systems.
- · Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience - Engineering
- · SAP (ERP) business system practical experience
